• Development and deployment within our solutions ecosystem.

💪 What makes the difference?

You have knowledge of cartographic systems: 

• OGC standards and services (MapServer, QGisServer),
• display components (Leaflet, OpenLayers, Mapbox).
• spatial database extensions (PostGIS).

And/or you have DevOps knowledge:

• continuous integration tools (Travis, GitHub or GitLab),
• continuous deployment tools (Docker Swarm or Kubernetes/Helm),
• supervision tools (Prometheus, Grafana).

And/or you've already worked remotely on Open Source projects.

We work 100% remotely because we don't have offices. While we can meet on a regular basis when necessary, and our working environment has been specifically designed for remote collaboration, we also recognize that being part of a fully remote company isn't for everyone.

📣 This September, Kalisio celebrates its 5th anniversary.

Our first pride is to have reached this anniversary, because entrepreneurship is a path strewn with pitfalls. We didn't take the easy way out by creating a company in line with our values: distributed in the heart of rural areas, contributing to the world of free geospatial (software and data), offering innovative tools for mapping and risk management.

Forest fires are an ever-increasing risk, and even our German neighbors are suffering. The consequences of climate change, drought and carelessness sometimes trigger fires of extreme intensity, capable of wiping out huge areas of vegetation. 

We have seen this once again this year with the fires that have been multiplying in France since July, in particular those at Landiras (Gironde) and La Teste-de-Buch (Gironde), which alone ravaged more than 20,000 hectares of forest. 

🧑🏼‍🚒Today, we look at the methods used by our German neighbors to deal with increasingly frequent fires, and at their future needs.

• the access roads in the event of an intervention ( Reserved path for emergency vehicles), 
• the topography and hiking trails,
• natural areas to be protected and their boundaries.

As illustrated by a recent ARTE documentary, we can see that there is a real lack of information sharing and knowledge of digital solutions, as well as difficulties in reacting quickly to a risky situation. 

🚨The requirement: 

A virtual space on a smartphone to alert, mobilize, distribute tasks and monitor operations in real time, against a map backdrop integrating fire-prone areas, areas to be protected, water reserves and weather information. Our Akt'n'Map solution, which has already proved its worth to the SDIS 32 and 47 emergency services, can meet this need.
